PANEL 1: The Grand Council audience looks up at the stage. We see Nando in the second or third row. SPEAKER (off panel, in the background): …And with that, we will adjourn for one hour, in order to… TRES PRIMO (off panel): ‘Nando! Hey, ‘Nando! PANEL 2: NANDO turns around to see the SQUAT PRIMO and TALL PRIMO. NANDO: Oh! Hi! Thank goodness you’re here. TALL PRIMO: We have a lot to discuss. Bur first…what of the Nyx? SQUAT PRIMO: Any word? PANEL 3: NANDO looks down at SQUAT PRIMO. NANDO: They’re apparently horrified with what happened. Said “THESE NYX WILL HAVE SUBMITTED TO THE NEW EMPEROR’S JUSTICE.” Then surrendered to the Armada. SQUAT PRIMO: To the Armada??? Who took them into custody? PANEL 4: NANDO continues to talk to SQUAT PRIMO, as an older bearded gentleman in military regalia appears behind him. NANDO: An Admiral I’ve never met. Admiral— SQUAT PRIMO: CAYETANO. PANEL 5: NANDO continues exuberantly as SQUAT PRIMO points to the man behind him. NANDO: Yes! “Cayetano Cruz.” SQUAT PRIMO: Um…allow me to introduce you, ‘Nando. PANEL 6: CAYETANO CRUZ holds his arm out to shake NANDO’s hand. His uniform has stripes on the arm, ropes hanging from his epaulettes, and a sash. He is a fancy military man. Nando meets his handshake. CAYETANO: Fernando. I served under your father for six years. He was the best of men. I AM AT YOUR SERVICE. PANEL 7: NANDO responds then CAYETANO pulls the handshake firmly toward him. The shadows intensify. NANDO: Oh1 But aren’t we both up for…?
