PANEL 1: The Machito parked, ORLA, NANDO, and THE CAPTAIN stand on the ramp under the ship. ORLA: Captain, I’m gonna walk ‘Nando to his transport. GIVE HIM A PEP TALK. CAPTAIN: Of course, Orla. Thank you. PANEL 2: Over the CAPTAIN’s shoulder, we see ORLA and NANDO continue to walk down the ramp. CAPTAIN: And ‘Nando, my boy: know that whatever happens in that council…this crew has your back. PANEL 3: Over NANDO’s shoulder, we see the CAPTAIN smiling down at the young man. NANDO: Thank you, Captain. CAPTAIN: We all love you, son. PANEL 4: Over the CAPTAIN and NOSH’s shoulder we see the ramp of the ship and NANDO and ORLA talking as they walk away. No text. PANEL 5: In silhouette, NOSH and the CAPTAIN speak as they watch the two leave. NOSH: Peoples are saying he will be Emperor. CAPTAIN: Pffft. Who knows. There’s an old human adage: “If you walk in as Emperor, you walk out as a cousin.” PANEL 6: Close up on the CAPTAIN. CAPTAIN: But gosh, I’m genuinely impressed by the lad. He’s handling it all so well. I don’t know that I’d handle it as calmly. PANEL 7. NOSH and the CAPTAIN stand side by side in profile. CAPTAIN: You gotta put yourself in his shoes and ask: “How well would YOU have dealt with his, when you were sixteen?” PANEL 7: Same scene, NOSH thinks. No text.
