PANEL 1: EMILIANA, still at the podium, holds a pointer towards a graph on a glowing hologram. EMILIANA: …and with that, cousins, I WILL TAKE MY LEAVE. You’ve seen my 5-point plan to rebuild imperial taxes, expand our fleets, and defeat the continuum. PANEL 2: As EMILIANA leaves the stage to applause, JOSÉ returns to stage, clapping. JOSE: And so we come to our THIRD esteemed candidate…whose family line needs no introduction. PANEL 3: JOSE holds his arm out to introduce ‘NANDO. JOSE: Please join me in welcoming our final speaker… Drive Corps Engineer Fernando Cruz. PANEL 4: As JOSE leaves the stage, NANDO walks to the podium, waving. NANDO: Familia. PANEL 5: NANDO starts his speech, the spotlight on him. NANDO: I know what you’re thinking. “Fernando is sixteen.” PANEL 6: NANDO at the podium. NANDO: And like many of you, I USED TO HAVE DOUBTS about me becoming Emperor. PANEL 7: NANDO motions to himself at the podium. NANDO: I STILL do, but I also USED to have them. PANEL 8: Nando smiles, hoping for a reaction to his joke. PANEL 9: From behind NANDO we see the crowd staring at him awkwardly. Sound effects: *crickets* PANEL 10: Nando, in shadow, looks unsure.
