PANEL 1: The SQUAT PRIMO walks up behind NANDO. PRIMO: Can I, uh, talk to you for a second, ‘Nando? PRIVATELY? NANDO: Sure. Yeah. Of course. PANEL 2: From behind we see PRIMO and NANDO walking. PRIMO: I can see you’vebeen psyching yourself up for this fight. And I’m proud of you. NANDO: …But? PANEL 3: PRIMO has stopped walking and NANDO turns to look. PRIMO: These Grand Councils are funny things. Even as we speak, there are hundreds of cousins canvassing the room on your behalf… NANDO: …but? PANEL 4: The PRIMO puts his hand on NANDO’s chest. PRIMO: But we both know you might not make it. PANEL 5: Close up on the PRIMO, over NANDO’s shoulder. PRIMO: And so i’ve got to ask something terrible of you: If you start to feel like the tide of the family is turning against you… I need you to throw your full support behind Caye. NANDO: WHAT??? PANEL 6: Close up on the PRIMO, using his hands as he explains. PRIMO: Emiliana was special forces when we were younger. And when we went on the run with that first ring ship, our Grandfather tasked HER with bringing us in. PANEL 7: The PRIMO and NANDO in silhouette. PRIMO: And ‘Nando, she did unspeakable things, trying to get us. Las Hermanitas. A Veetan village. A mining outpost in the wash. Unspeakable things. PANEL 8: Close up on the PRIMO’s face. PRIMO: So whatever you’re gonna do, whatever you’re gonna say…If it looks like it’s not gonna work… PANEL 9: The PRIMO turns looking wide-eyed and serious. NANDO takes in the information.
