PANEL 1: In space, 5 Nyxian ships fly directly at the viewer. NARRATION: The Nyx were not a lying people. When they spoke, they spoke the truth. PANEL 2: Close up on a NYX as he looks at a projection of Earth (Tierra), furrowing his eyebrows. NARRATION: So when Imperial propaganda told them humanity was governed by the rule of law, they believed it. They trusted that if humanity learned of the Governor’s murder, the law would set things right. PANEL 3: Three NYX stand at a computer console, the light from the screen casting shadows. NARRATION: But living among humans taught them caution. They knew some factions were capable of mischief — and would try to bury their appeal to the law. So the Nyx overshot the mark, and MADE SURE THEIR VOICES WOULD BE HEARD. PANEL 4: From space, EARTH, showing North America. NARRATION: Through 59 Nestr leaf cycles, they hacked one of fTierra’s most powerful communication systems: THE EMPIRE’S GLOBAL ALERT SYSTEM. Which today pinged for the first time… PANEL 5: In a city, from the street level we see skyscrapers rising in the air and three people walking. A woman with dark curly hair looks a projection from her watch, a balding man in a sweater looks at a glowing tablet, and a young girl wearing a backpack looks at a projection from a dot in her hand. NARRATION: In every city. On every continent. And on every…single…device. PANEL 6: Inside a classroom, kids sit in a circle on a rug, while a teacher in the foreground holds a piece of chalk. NARRATION: Including the first-grade learning slates of Cawker City, Kansas (“Home of the world’s largest ball of twine”). GIRL: Miss Jenny?
