PANEL 1: NARRATION: In orbit of Opta, throneworld of the Gannath A Gannath Dionycha ship hovers in space above a planet. From inside the ship: GANNATH 1: So it’s true? The capital has fallen to [the vinn]? FISH 1: Not just the capital. The ENTIRE PLANET. PANEL 2: A GANNATH (a furry spider-like creature with a mask-like face) talks to two FISH (AI robots, also spider-like). GANNATH 1: But how?!? There weren’t even [vinn] capital ships here! FISH 1: The single-(occupant) ships overran everything on the surface. (We) might be the only dionycha to escape. FISH 2: And just barely: (our) star drive is heavily damaged. PANEL 3: The GANNATH, with another standing behind him, reacts to the. news. GANANTH: That’s it, then. (We’ve)…LOST. PANEL 4: The two GANNATH hear something in their heads, turning to see where the voice came from. TELEPATHY: NO. (We) have not lost. PANEL 5: From behind the two Gannath and a FISH, we see a corridor with a light shining down from the ceiling. At the end of the corridor is pure darkness. TELEPATHY: (They) hacked (our) systems. (They) scouted (our) territories. (They) sent [the Vinn] to attack (us). PANEL 6: Close up on the dark hallway entrance. We see THE CENTER’s eyes glow. TELEPATHY: But (we) will bring the fury of the (Gannath) to (them). PANEL 7: The CENTER begins to emerge from the darkness, eyes reflecting the light. TELEPATHY: Set course… PANEL 8: The CENTER’s face is now in the light. TELEPATHY: For (Tierra). ——— Want to read the full story?
