PANEL 1: Location tag: LORCA. We see a beautiful white sandy beach with waves lapping up, a palm tree, foliate in the background with a building behind them. Behind the building is a very large imperial ship. PANEL 2: The ADMIRAL, a woman with high cheek bones and tied-back dark hair, stands in front of a idilic scenery of palm trees and a sunny sky. In front of her is a crowd of small, squirrel like creatures with Mohawks: The Rhino. ADMIRAL: For those I didn’t meet in transit, my name is Admiral Machado, and I’ll be overseeing your pilot training here on Lorca. PANEL 2: Close up on the ADMIRAL as she continues. ADMIRAL: Given the threat of our enemies, I was intent on starting your training IMMEDIATELY. PANEL 3: The Admiral continues speaking. ADMIRAL: BUT! The Imperial psychologist has determined you are in a transitional state of shock. You’ve instantly lost everything you’ve ever known. So any training we start now would APPARENTLY be lost in a haze. Instead, he’s ordered one week of medical R&R before we begin. PANEL 4: The ADMIRAL looks down at a transparent tablet computer in her hand. ADMIRAL: “sigh” So…you’ve each been issued swimsuits, snorkels, a personal music device filled with “The Beach Boys”, and an in-room piña colada blender. PANEL 5: The ADMIRAL, in front of top a sea of Rhine, pauses, looks closer at her screen which has a sticky note attached to it. [no text] PANEL 6: The ADMIRAL, with the Rhine watching, takes the sticky note off the screen and reads it. ADMIRAL: …and I see he’s tacked on an addendum note. PANEL 7: The ADMIRAL reads the note. The Rhino look at each other and her. ADMIRAL: You are further asked… “Not to place The Beach Boys in the blender.” ——— Want to read the full story?
