The Final Stretch

Wednesday, April 25, 2012 - 01:35 AM

We're in our last week of our double-dose-of-Drive, and I can't thank the folks at
Star Pirates enough. I've been knee-deep in finishing the documentary these last few months...but have been missing Drive immensely. So to have them give me the nudge to do two Drives a week has been really fun. (As was drawing that crowd scene on Slaughter. I especially like the big fella with the knife!)*

...and I can't wait for you guys to see the strip later in the week!

--------------------------

*Edited to note: In glancing over the image again, I think they ALL have a knife.

My favorite part is the freighter Captain munching on shoe leather in the first panel :-). Second is Orla's bank robber costume and the Captain's Jedi robe.

Yeah, every character has wardrobe deviation!
Cpt. Taneel: That hits me more as a Hoodie-With-BuckRogers-Flair than a faux-Jedi robe. (y'know, the strings, the cuffs?) I am left to imagine what Nosh had on when they debarked.
And anticipate what Dave has envisioned for Skitter - he may need to be way incognito. Skittroid pilots are about to become the hottest commodity since "I Can't Believe It's A Shoe" digestion helper!
Parrot suit (on a Star Pirate's shoulder, of course)?
Boom box?
Glad he wasn't in Nosh's shirt...

Is it just me or has every new species we've met or seen been reptilian, insectiod, or something similar? Does this mean that sentient mammalian life is a rarity or even unique? Is that assuming too much? Where, then, are my Wookies or Thundereans?

Panel three reminds me of one of our family reunions. They're interesting, at any rate.

So now that we have the final comic of the two-per-week stretch, what's the update schedule going to look like? Will we still be able to stay at one-per-week, or will it get sketchy for a while again?

It will go back to updating on Thursdays, documentary-permitting. So that will translate into "most Thursdays" until SDCC.

I think SDCC translates to July 15.
