Dave, I understand you're busy trying to get your documentary finished. However, you've got to admit it's a bad sign for your web strip if no one even posts a reply on the forum for a week. It says people are starting to give up on you.

So, a thought. A two pronged suggestion, actually. First, Drive is an intelligently written, well charactered, multi-layered story line. It's attracted better than average, interesting, talented fans.

Use that.

Ask for contributions. Images, Encyclopedia contributions, ephemera like action figures, fan fiction, even filk - the red headed step child of the fan world. If you don't have time to sort through them, have people post 'em all in the forum, we'll vote and sort, and you can pick the winners.

People like this strip. Even if you say you're doing it as a gift to yourself, your gift has touched a lot of others, and there is a kind of fandom equivalent of a Chinese obligation. We have bought into this story line, this world, these people. We care, and we don't want to see them go. Let us help.

And the second thought - guest strips. You have spent enough time in the web comic world to get lots of street cred. Use it, and get contributions from others. I, for example, would love to see a Questionable Content take on the strip; I would sell my Mother by the kilo to see an XKCD strip on the subject.

Basically, we're all with you on Drive, Dave, and we care about where it's going. How can we help?
