What's that? A name? A term of affection, like "kiddo"?

I believe that is his name.

If you look at the comic before this one, he(she?) was referred to as Advisor Cuddow. Typically in military matters the "Advisor" would refer to a rank, while the "Cuddow" would be a last or family name. Also in the military, while not officially endorsed, a sign of familiarity would be to drop the ran altogether and just use the last name. Like the Captain did this strip.

For example, lets say my last name is Smith and I was a Sergeant in the Army, most of my friends would refer to me as Smith. But my official designation would be Sergeant Smith.
