Hey ya'll with a better memory than me, has the name of the emperor who was allegedly murdered just before the comic began been revealed? I'm trying to figure out if the Emperor Manuel mentioned in last weeks comic is said Emperor or someone further up the line.
According to what I can figure*, Manuel Jose Cruz is the one that was murdered. By the current emperor. Who framed Nosh.
*Based on the year of his death, 2401, which is 143 years 'later' from 2258 (from the early strip), makes his death year the current year, or close to it.
Years aside, I would be willing to bet that it is, if only because that kind of disagreement about the course of human civilization, especially considering the stagnant, downward spiral humanity was in pre-ring, is the sort of thing that people who lead empires kill each other over.
