Just cuz I'm in a nit-picky mood...

Fruit evolved to be eaten by animals, thus spreading the seeds (guess how!). Seems backwards that these tilla trees would evolve glass-smooth bark before the filipods evolved a way to reach the fruit.

Of course it's likely there's some other explanation for the glassy bark. Like I say, I'm just nit-picking.
