Comic posting time - why the delay?
posted Thursday, February 03, 2011 - 07:08 AM (#58232)

Ever since the Drive site officially opened I've noticed that the comic doesn't get posted until late in the day Saturday, which is different behavior from the Sheldon site. With Sheldon, the day's comic gets posted early in the morning which means when I check that site at 8:30 am (eastern time) the comic for that day is ready and posted. Drive used to be ready on Saturdays on the Sheldon site at the same time.

But now, it usually doesn't get posted (to either site) until the afternoon or evening? Is this intentional, or is there something else happening that makes it take longer?

Incidentally, when posting on the forum, the middle part of the posting box is light gray with white text so it makes the headings (Name, Title, Comment, Allowed HTML, etc). hard to read.

The Saturday delays can be chalked up mainly to 1.) double-sized strips the last few weeks, and 2.) a Friday work schedule that's gotten moved around a bit, resulting in me finishing DRIVE's on Saturday mornings.

As for the forum colors: That's definitely something that needs fixing, yes! We're doing some polishin' of the site CSS, and that should fix it.

Ah, right.

The double-tall strips would explain a lot of it. Carry on, then! :) We all enjoy your strips.
