I think it is possible that Nosh might be mixing up the concept of a "hug" with a "half nelson."
The difference is subtle, but they are somewhat different...

There's a huge difference between being peace loving and being an absolute won't-raise-a-finger pacifist. When push comes to shove you are more than willing to let them shove you once or twice, turn around and walk away.

But everyone has their limits beyond which they will not allow themselves to be pushed any more, and you stand up and hold your ground - and it looks like the Veetans haven't figured this out yet.

I refer you to Kenny Rogers' "Coward Of The County" as a textbook example of when you hear that resounding snapping sound of your last nerve breaking. Been there, Done that.
